Terms of Service
By using Recap ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service.
Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. One person per account; do not share access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Acceptable use
You may use the App for lawful personal or business purposes only. You must not:
- Record audio of any party without their knowledge or consent where required by law in your jurisdiction.
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights, contains malware, or violates any law.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.
- Use the App to harass, defame, or harm others.
You are solely responsible for complying with applicable recording-consent laws in your jurisdiction. Some regions require all-party consent before recording a conversation.
Intellectual property
The App, including its source code, branding, and copy, is owned by us. You retain all rights to the meeting content you create. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the App's features (transcription, formatting, optional email delivery).
AI-generated content
The App uses third-party AI (Anthropic Claude) to format your transcripts. AI output may contain errors, including but not limited to incorrect speaker attribution, summarization mistakes, and inaccurate action items. Speaker labels are explicitly inferred — verify before relying on the output for important decisions.
Pricing
The App is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features in the future and will provide notice before doing so.
Disclaimer
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
